・Share house
This building was originally a private residence of a wealthy family and this time I converted the retro building into a modern share house. The interior is luxurious. Plenty of marble and old tiles are used for the decoration of the common space and the private rooms. The rosewood doors and the cast metal railings were crafted by Japanese Shokunin (skillful craftsmen).
The spacious 20㎡ rooftop balcony is free to use anytime. You can read books, work from home, or have lunch with yo......moreur housemates here. The living room is coordinated with high quality Japanese modern furniture, including Karimoku 60, Time & Style and Isamu Noguchi. The furniture and mattresses in each private room are also of high quality, and I am flexible to meet individual requests. The kitchen is fully equipped with 2 large refrigerators, an oven, microwave, toaster, rice cooker, kettle, and other kitchen tools, so you don't need to bring anything you need to cook.

・Sangenjaya area
Sangenjaya means "three teahouses" (teahouses are social meeting places.), and since the Edo period (17th~19th century), the area has developed as a bustling town around the teahouses. This area is still very popular today as a fashionable and cultural district that retains the atmosphere of old Tokyo.
In residential areas in Tokyo, Shotengai (local shopping streets) is an essential part of the local people's lives. This share house is located near the "Sakae-dori Shotengai" on the south side of the station, and this 300m long local shopping street is filled with many shops, stores, and delicious restaurants. There are traditional sushi restaurants and sake bars, as well as a stylish bistro serving creative spicy dishes. A greengrocer, fishmonger, bakery, big supermarket, convenience store, drugstore, 100yen store, and Sento (public bath) are all within 3 minutes walk from the house, so it is in a very convenient location. My recommendation in particular is Sangenjaya Café. A popular Japanese architect, Jo Nagasaka renovated the old building into the stylish cafe and Blue Bottle Coffee is operating it now. I hope you enjoy a good cup of coffee while looking out at the beautiful garden. Note that this share house is close to the shopping district, but it is not in a noisy area.

・Bars and restaurants in the Yokocho district
The most attractive feature of Sangenjaya is that the old Yokocho (narrow alleys with eateries) remains in the center of the town (5 minutes walk from the house). This district is called "Triangle Zone" and it is crammed with more than 100 local bars and restaurants. There is a wide variety of inexpensive and delicious local eateries like Izakaya, Ramen, Yakitori, Sushi, Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, Oden, Soba, and other Japanese food, as well as Italian, French, Thai, Turkish, Chinese, and Indian cuisine. It is as if they have a food festival or night market everyday and you can experience 1960s Tokyo here!

・Setagaya park
Setagaya park is 8 minutes walk from the house, a large park the size of 400 tennis courts, with a lot of greenery and a big fountain surrounded by grassy fields. There are many coffee shops and take-out eateries in front of the park, and I particularly recommend Granny Smith's homemade apple pie. How about having lunch surrounded by greenery on a nice day here? It is also a very nice place to go running through the greenery.
